Sunday February 20, 2005

It has been a sweet and challenging day.  We had men’s breakfast this morning with Ray & Nate cooking.  Ray shared a DVD with us about a  father who loves his son and in order to bless his son started running with him.  The son was born quadriplegic.  Father & son competed in the iron man triathlon.  It was such a picture of  much our Heavenly Father loves us even though we so dead and paralyzed.  He chooses to make us a part of His plan for His glory at the cost of His Son’s death on the cross.
It was a busy time after the breakfast.  I worked to get all the songs in to Power Point.  I wish I could have gotten them finished for the worship team to practice with.  John Countryman, I’m sorry about this morning.  You deserved some of my time and encouragement.  I’m sorry that I let my rushed ness and lack self-centeredness get in the way.  I’m praying that the Lord give you healing and strength after your busy weekend!
Mark’s sermon was on strongholds and tearing them down.  It was very encouraging and with it came a challenge.  Once the stronghold is torn down we must allow Christ to occupy.  Satan will challenge that occupation and wants to rebuild.  I’ve had to yield to Christ today and trust Him to occupy and not let the attacks cause me to fear.
During the offering Jesse & Micah Leake played and sang “This Road” by Jars of Clay.  It has been a favorite of mine since I heard it on the City on a Hill CD.  It was sweet.  We had a prayer time for Micah and his family.  He will have treatments this week and begin bone marrow transplant next week.  Keep him and his family in your prayers!
After lunch today I came home and listened to Prairie Home Companion.  I took a short nap and then enjoyed the Discovery Channel.  A good day!  I praise God for Sunday’s.
