First off I must say that I LOVE the design of iOS 7. The graphics and the animations feel fresh and clean, futuristic even. I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4 (soon to be traded in for a 5S). The iPhone feels faster and I’m enjoying iTunes Radio (the ’80 hit station is great). Love the control center, but wish you can change what apps are there.
But I have some questions for Apple. 2 apps that are STILL missing from the iPad. Voice recorder is great. I loved it in the old OS but like it better in iOS 7. It is a great app and I use it all the time to send in voice feedback to the podcasts I listen to. But it is still nowhere to be found on the iPad. Calculator is an app I used 99% of the time on my iPad but Apple does not have one built-in like it does for the iPhone. So I bought Jumbo Plus. It makes me scratch my head that these two useful apps only exist on iPhone.
Next up is Audiobooks. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, why is this the only thing not in the cloud? iBooks, apps, music, music videos, TV shows, movies, and podcasts. Are all in the cloud and purchases made on one device can be downloaded to others and podcasts sync across devices. I’m my hard drive on my Mac fails I can re-download EVERYTHING BUT my audiobooks. If I buy an audiobook on my phone I have to go sync it with my computer for it to download and then I can manually put it on my iPad and forget about it syncing my last listened to spot. Apple is WAY behind the curve compared to Audible which lets me see, download and sync across multiple devices and download if I lose my HD.
Overall I really enjoy the iOS so far and the changes made. I can’t wait to experience some of the things I don’t have access to now when I get the iPhone 5S.
Overall I’m please but I still think Apple has some improvements to make.
p.s. I get a lot of great info about Apple things at the following two sites:
I just installed it last night, and I must say my favorite feature is the nearly direct connection to the bluetooth, clock, and flashlight. I love that!
