Day 8 – Re-entry & Tourism

Hotel San Pietro

We slept in a little later and then ate breakfast.  We went over to the feeding center to see all of Dale’s hard work on the mural.

Then we took our group photo and one of the staff.

Then said our “see you next year” to the staff and then got on the boats back to Cartagena.

We checked into to the Hotel San Pietro.  Then we went to a huge mall in Cartagena, after a fun cab ride there.  It felt like the U.S. with trendy stores, a food court and more.  We then went to the old part of town.

Las Bóvedas (shops)

They have taken the cannon supply depot from the Spanish days and turned each one into a different shop.

We went from shop to shop looking and buying.  I finished my Christmas shopping and got a few things for me as well.

Rooftop hammocks

We were all tired and went back to the hotel.  We relaxed, showered, had hammock time and played with the birds and monkey in the courtyard.

We all then dressed up and went to Crepes and Waffles (a South American chain) the food was very good and we had a blast talking.  We then walked back to the hotel and hit the sack.
