Most of the team and some of the staff went to the other side of the island to jump off the cliffs and swim. I stuck around the mission. I had a great quiet time in the Lord and the Lord gave me a teaching for Thursday night’s service. But I found out later they there could only be one speaker at the service and the Lord had clearly given Vic a word to speak.
But it was good, the Lord taught me and shared with me it was a blessing even if I didn’t get to share it at the time. I also spend some time taking some photos of the mission and the surrounding area. (Seeing them now just makes me more determined to save for next year’s trip, if it is the Lord’s will for me to go.)
I had a good time in prayer for the people of the island and the mission staff. By that time the group had gotten back from the cliffs. We had lunch and siesta time. We broke into groups. Most of the guys headed back to finish digging latrine #4.
Most of the ladies went over to the feeding center and worked very hard at cleaning everything from top to bottom. And Dale continued his nearly round the clock work on the mural.
Thom, Andrew & Jorge worked on tearing down and starting to rebuild a staircase at the mission. Nate and a few others did the block work. Meredith and Alyssa had worked with the local girls every day to do a liturgical dance for Thursday night. It was tiring but they enjoyed it.
After Supper, Thom, Nate, Andrew, Vic & Beth worked with 7 of the local boys on craft kits supplied by Lowe’s. It was a great evening!
