Day 2 – A Day of Rest and Vacation

Sunday we were treated to a day at an island resort.  We took a big boat on a several hour trip to a resort island.  This is a place where the more wealthy Colombians do day vacations.

Hammock time

We were enable to enjoy hammocks in the shade, the pool & ocean, a great lunch, some went snorkeling, and the beauty of the island.

The trip back was a very wild ride.  We had rough seas.  The people on the front of the boat were soaked to the bone and quite a few people got sea sick.  By the time the boat got back to the island we were all exhausted.  Graciously Jorge & Karen Silva (the founders of the mission) got motorcycle taxis (a new addition to the island) for us to ride back to the mission rather than walking for half an hour.

We had a great time of praise and worship that night after a great supper.  The meals all week were great!  It is so nice to have fresh fruit and vegetables as well as great Colombian dishes.  It has been an adjustment to be back to my normal diet here in the U.S.
