It was a quiet and sleepy Monday.  Driving through the fog this morning reminded me a lot of Laurel Ridge.  God is so amazing in His creation.  I remember sitting in the dining hall one day.  The dishes from breakfast were done and several of us on the M-Staff were sitting around our table savoring a free moment. We looked out and could see the slab (basketball/volleyball court) and the softball field down the hill.  Then the fog (really it was the clouds because we are so high up) rolled over the tree line and up the hill.  Soon all we could see out the windows was white.  A little while later it rolled off.  It is one of the many experiences there that remind me of how amazing God is.  There are times in our lives when we are busy and distracted in our own thoughts.  We have not set our minds on Him and we are going a thousand miles an hour.  The God rolls into our lives in a visible way.  We are forced to stop and just marvel at who He is.  We can see Him in a veiled way and we can fell His presence all around us.  He causes us to stop long enough to be soaked and saturated in Him, His Word, and His will.  Then He is first and our focus is on Him.   Then He lifts the veil and we GET TO (not have to or are forced to) move at His pace and in His direction.  “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. . . . The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” (Psalm 19:1, 8)

A Living Prayer
by Ron Block

In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home
But there’s one who holds my hand
The rugged road through barren lands
The way is dark the road is steep
But He’s become my eyes to see
The strength to climb my griefs to bear
The Savior lives inside me there

In You’re love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to Thee

(Take my life and let me be
a living prayer my God to Thee)

In these trials of life I find
Another voice inside my mind
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives

I love moments like that.  It’s one of my favorite things about driving to work early in the mornings…especially during the seasons when it is daybreak as I’m driving…God’s majesty is so incredibly evident in His creation…He brings such joy into my heart to marvel at it!
